How do I sign up?

Sign up for a UR Online account by visiting the home page and selecting the “Create a New Account” link right below the log in.

There are also Social Media icons located to the right of the log in. Signing up using your social media account is faster, and one less username and password to remember!

I am a parent looking to update my information.

Access the UR Family Data Portal at this link: https://uronline.net/parent-login. The family data form is intended to only be completed by one parent at a time. Please allow 3 business days to process your registration.

Why do you ask for the last four digits of my SSN and my birth date?

The last four digits of your SSN and your date of birth are two of our methods of verification. Our goal is to keep your information completely safe. UR Online offers the feature to view your giving history, so we’d like to keep this information as confidential as we possibly can for your financial safety.

However, if you are against providing us with this information, please let us know by emailing uronline@richmond.edu and we can use an alternative method. We do not ask for your full SSN at any time, please do not provide that information to anyone.

Why does it take up to 3 business days to process my registration?

We have a manual verification process for each individual registration. We also receive many registrations in one day. When you are granted access to UR Online, you will receive an email from uronline@richmond.edu with a link to log in provided.

If you have a question about your registration, please email uronline@richmond.edu.

Alumni Directory

Can undergraduate students access the Alumni Directory?

Undergraduate students can create a UR Online account and update their information, but they will not be able to access the Alumni Directory. This feature will be available upon graduation.

I graduated from UR more than once, why is the Alumni Directory only showing one class year?

Currently, only primary class year is shown - such as your undergrad year. You will appear in both directories, such as the Undergraduate Alumni Directory and the Law Career Services Directory if you have a degree from both.

Please bear with us as we continue to add new features and make updates to UR Online. If you would like to change your primary class year, please email uronline@richmond.edu.

Why can’t I see the Alumni Directory?

All Alumni are able to access the Alumni Directory with a UR Online account. If you have not logged in or signed up, you will not be able to view the Alumni Directory. If you are an undergraduate student, you will not be able to access the directory. If you are a law student or law alum, you will be able to view the Law Career Services Directory. If you are an MBA graduate, you will be able to view the MBA Alumni Directory.

These directories are only available if you have an account with UR Online and logged in.

I cannot find who I am searching for in the Alumni Directory/MBA/Law Career Services Directory.

Try using the "Advanced Search" and minimize the information you are including in each field. If you are still having a difficult time finding alumni, the person(s) you are searching for may have asked to not be included in our online directory or a record of them is inactive or does not currently exist.

Username / Password issues

My username and password do not work.

If you logged in through social media before, and cannot remember your password, you will need to update your password via the social networking site. The University does not keep your password.

If you are sure that you have an existing UR Online account, try selecting “Forgotten Password”. This will send an email to your inbox, and you will be able to reset your password from there. If you do not have access to your email address that was associated with your account, please email us to let us know to update our records at uronline@richmond.edu.

I have selected "Forgotten Password" and UR Online is saying my email is invalid.

This means that your email account is notIf you do not have access to your email address that was associated with your account, please email us to let us know to update our records at uronline@richmond.edu.

I cannot remember my password. My username is not "SocialWeb_".

If you received an email that says your username is this, this means you have signed up using a social media account. During the sign up process, you selected Amazon, Google, or Twitter. To log in, you will need to select one of these. If it does not log you in immediately, you will need to change your password with one of the media accounts you used. UR Online does not store passwords from other websites. If you'd like to switch to using a username and password instead, please let us know!

I use a Google Plus/Google account to log in to UR Online, why can't I log in anymore?

Google has discontinued it's OpenID 2.0 service. OpenID allowed users to securely sign in to UR Online using their Google Apps user account. Now that this is no longer available, email uronline@richmond.edu indicating that you will be switching from Google, and sign up using a different social media source such as Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter. You may also create a new account using the "Create a New Account" link below the login on https://uronline.net. Your account information is not deleted, only a username and password will need to be updated.

I used to log in with Facebook, what happened?

Recently feeds such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, have become non-functioning due to the changes of Facebook’s API. We are researching a more permanent solution to help us keep up with the changes to Facebook’s API and to expand our ability to connect to content on these platforms. This is an issue that the University as a whole, and many other authentication platforms are facing and the University is looking for a long-term solution that will restore our connection.

In the meantime, we removed those social sign on options that do not work, and added alternative authentication options such as Twitter and Amazon. You can also update your UR Online account to authentication through a username and password format. To do so, just email us at uronline@richmond.edu and we will set up your account accordingly.

The form will not allow the password I’m creating.

Once you get an error that your password is not accepted, scroll to the top of the form and read the password error. Your password is required to have at least 8 characters, one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number. Any special characters such as “/”, “&”, or “*”, will NOT be accepted.

Profile Updates

How do I change my address?

You can change your address by logging in to UR Online and using the “My Profile” form. You will also notice that you can also update other information on this form as well such as your email address, phone number, and even your business information.

My profile says I graduated with the class of XXXX, but I am class of XXXX. How do I change this?

Please email uronline@richmond.edu and we will make this change to your profile.

I am retired, and it does not say that in the directory.

The directory only lists businesses for other alumni to search upon. When updating your profile, please add an end date to your employment, and we adjust accordingly.

I have more than one employer, but the directory only shows one.

The directory only shows the primary employer.

Refunds / Billing

I think I’ve been charged twice for an event I am attending.

We’ve most likely caught it on our end as soon as the payment came through our system. However, please call or email us and we will work to get you a refund immediately!

If you are registering for an event and need help, please call/email the number or email address associated with the form. There will be contact information listed on the event registration page if you have any questions or concerns about an event.

My international address is not working on the payment form.

If you are having this issue, it is likely that you are not typing it in exactly as our address verification system requires it. If you do not see your state listed with the associated country, please use "XX" or "NA" as the state. If that does not work for your card, please email donatenow@richmond.edu.
