Spider Baseball Announces 2022 Schedule

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond's 2022 baseball schedule includes 54 regular season games, with 35 of those to be played on campus at Pitt Field.
 
Richmond kicks off the season in Charleston, S.C., at the Swig and Swine Challenge (Feb. 18-20) facing 2021 Patriot League Champion Army, as well as Bucknell and Air Force.
 
The Spiders then hosts the next 13 contests, battling in-state rivals William & Mary (Feb. 22), James Madison (Mar. 2), as well as hosting St. Thomas (Feb. 24 & 26) and Sacred Heart (Feb. 25-27). As part of the Central Virginia Challenge, Richmond will welcome in Rutgers, Lafayette and Princeton (March 5- 7) before hosting Holy Cross for a four-game series (March 10-13).
 
After a quick mid-week battle at ACC foe North Carolina (March 16), the Ivy League's Cornell (March 18-20) and Big East squad Villanova (March 25-27) all head to Pitt Field for three-game series, with Towson coming in for a midweek (March 23). The Spiders wrap up March with a trip to Charlottesville to take on Virginia, a program that finished 2021 season with a run to the NCAA College World Series.
 
Richmond opens Atlantic 10 Conference action with back-to-back weekends at Davidson (April 1-3), at Saint Louis (April 8-10) before taking on 2021 A-10 Champion VCU at Pitt Field (April 15-17). UR also takes on George Washington (April 22-24) before heading to St. Bonaventure (April 29-May 1.)
 
In non-conference midweek action, UR hosts Longwood (April 5), Norfolk State (April 12), and return the home-and-home series against James Madison (April 19) and Towson (May 10). VMI heads to Pitt Field for a midweek game May 3.
 
In May A-10 action, Richmond hosts George Mason (May 6-8), and heads to Dayton (May 13-15) before closing out the season at home against Rhode Island (May 19-21).
 
The 2022 Atlantic 10 Championship will be hosted by Fordham, at Houlihan Park in Bronx, N.Y., May 25-28.
