We have a number of computationally-oriented professional development opportunities this summer for faculty and their students. Information below. Most sessions will be held using zoom, and we will record sessions for future asynchronous use. All sessions run for ~1 hour beginning at 9AM. Please feel free to attend as many sessions as you’d like!

  1. Learn to use Spydur, our new HPC resource. May 17–19
  2. Learn to use SLURM to submit HPC jobs May 20
  3. Learn GIT May 23–25
  4. Python basics May 26, 31, June 1
  5. Intermediate python June 2, 7-9, 14-16

All sessions will focus on the applicability of these topics to the research computing environment of Spydur at UR. Ideally, there will be plenty of questions that will breathe life into the videos we intend to make for some or all of the sessions. The questions and answers will further the development of improved workshops for Summer 2023. Our goal is to help you to become comfortable and productive. Please be sure to include your name on this Box note to be added to Spydur before the workshops begin.
