Faculty Hub Conversation: Alternative Grading Systems

Fri, Jan 6, 2023, 2:30 – 3:15 PM EST
Faculty Hub (3rd Floor of Boatwright Library) or Zoom

Are you currently using or planning to use an alternative grading system – specifications grading, contract grading, ungrading, portfolio grading, etc. – in one of your courses next semester? Join the Faculty Hub for an opportunity to share ideas, ask questions, and gather feedback from colleagues who have also integrated alternative grading practices into their course design and pedagogy. The facilitator/s will also share what they learned from their ACS Summer Working Group focused on alternative grading approaches that support equity and inclusion.

This conversation will be co-facilitated by Libby Gruner (English), Nicole Maurantonio (Rhetoric/Communication), and Kylie Korsnack (Faculty Hub), and is open to faculty and instructional staff from any disciplinary background. We will meet on Friday, January 6 from 2:30-3:15 p.m.

*Note: Participants can choose to join this session virtually (via Zoom) or in-person at the Faculty Hub. Coffee, tea, and snacks will be available for in-person participants. Those joining virtually will be sent a Zoom link prior to the session. Please register for the session in advance to let us know you'll be joining us.
