Summer Research with Students: Panel and Mixer

Are you conducting research with students over the summer? Whether you're new to that experience or you'd just like to learn about ways to mentor your students more effectively over the summer, this event is for you! Come hear from faculty experts about their techniques and tips for creating a fulfilling and successful learning experience for your research students--and about their suggestions on how to make the process go more smoothly for you. Then, stay to share ideas with colleagues and enjoy some food and beverages!

Our faculty panelists are:

Ernest McGowan, Associate Professor of Political Science; Africana Studies Program Coordinator, Ex-Officio Advisory Board Member; Director, University of Richmond Race and Racism Project

Kelly Lambert, Professor of Behavioral Neuroscience; MacEldin Trawick Professorship in Psychology; Co-coordinator, Neuroscience Program

Carol Parish, Floyd D. and Elisabeth S. Gottwald Professor of Chemistry; Associate Provost for Academic Integration

The first hour (from 3:00-4:00) will be a faculty panel. From 4:00-5:00, we'll host a mixer to share ideas and compare notes with others working with students over the summer.
