Reinventing Your Courses—and Reanimating Your Teaching—in Richmond's New GE Program with Michael Reder
Thu, Oct 26, 2023, 3:00 – 4:30 PM EDT
Faculty Hub - Third Floor of Boatwright Library
A new General Education program can be exciting—and also a lot of work in your already busy life. In this interactive talk, you will have the opportunity to reflect upon your work teaching within your discipline as well as your contributions to Richmond's general education. Why do you teach? What do you enjoy most in your work? What would you like to spend more time doing? What do you dread, or what would you like to spend less time doing (besides meetings!)? Please come and join colleagues as we reflect upon how we will move forward in our common work.
Also joining us will be, Michael Reder, Director of the Joy Shechtman Mankoff Center for Teaching & Learning at Connecticut College. Among his areas of interest are effective teaching and learning, especially using writing and other active teaching techniques to enhance student and faculty learning, and the creation of faculty teaching and learning centers at small colleges.
