The University will not sell or provide personally identifiable information to outside parties, except under special circumstances such as those set forth in the Terms of Use that all members accept when registering for and/or using this service. Examples of special circumstances might include the University's belief that the law requires disclosure, and the use of address information for mailings sponsored by the University and its offices and departments, including the Office of Alumni and Career Services and/or the Office of Advancement Systems.

By the use of this service you volunteer personal information to the University. This information will be available to other alumni through the online directory unless:

  • You make it confidential by choosing not to allow it to be displayed, or
  • Your contact information has previously been marked as confidential.

Information provided may be used:

  • By the University of Richmond for university business
  • By registered members to locate other members of the online community, and
  • For individual communication of a personal nature between registered members.

Use of this data for any other purpose including, but not limited to reproduction and storing in a retrieval system by any means, or using the information for any commercial or political mailings is strictly prohibited.

If you wish to restrict access to specific information, or be removed completely from the UR Online alumni directory, you may edit your privacy options in your personal profile at any time. 

The University of Richmond has provided for transmission of information related to the directory to be secured via current security technology. However, please be aware that no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be secure. Consequently, the University of Richmond cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information that you transmit or provide to the University, and you do so at your own risk.
