Let's Talk About Student Reading
Join FYS Director Libby Gruner, Ryan Cales and Gabriel Matthews from the Faculty Hub, and your colleagues for a conversation about reading. Complaints that students aren’t doing the reading have been around forever, but most of us think we’re seeing something new now. In this conversation, we’ll share what we’ve been seeing, but—most importantly—we’ll also share strategies. Please join us on Thursday, November 7, from 4 to 5 p.m., with both your concerns and your suggestions! Sign up here.

Inclusive Pedagogy Partnership Program: Call for Applications for Spring 2025
The Faculty Hub invites applications for the spring cohort of participants in the Inclusive Pedagogy Partnership Program (IP3). The IP3 program pairs students and faculty (or instructional staff) together for a semester-long partnership experience focused on the implementation of principles of inclusive pedagogy. Students regularly observe, provide feedback, and serve as a thinking partner for faculty, helping them to reflect on, refine, and enhance their inclusive teaching practices.

If you have questions about the application process or about the work of either program, please contact Kylie Korsnack in the Faculty Hub.

From Kristjen Lundberg’s Lab:
Faculty Participants Needed
Student researcher Marissa Burton is seeking participants for an online research study examining University of Richmond faculty members' beliefs about "belonging." We are interested in representing a diverse range of faculty perspectives on both personal experiences of belonging (or not) and beliefs about belonging as an institutional priority, so all are welcome and encouraged to participate. Your responses will be kept confidential. Participants must be full-time UR faculty members who teach traditional undergraduate courses. Following survey completion, participants may enter a drawing to win one of ten $50 Amazon gift codes. Learn more by accessing the survey at the following link. The approximately 20-25 minute survey may only be completed once. This study is being completed by Marissa Burton, an honors student in Psychology, under the mentorship of Dr. Kristjen Lundberg. Please direct questions or concerns to marissa.burton@richmond.edu.
